Custom MPO/MTP

Custom MPO/MTP Trunk Cable are our specialty! We can design almost any MPO/MTP to meet your specific need.

1.MPO production quality inspection

Production Process

1.Cable Cutting

Procurely purchased the corresponding raw materials according to customer order volume.

2.Connector Kit

Treatment and assembly of the raw material bulk parts purchased.

3.Ribbonizing Fiber

Sort the fiber of the peeling skin according to the products the customer needs. (Routinedivided into three polarities: A, B, and C)

4.Stripping

The outer skin of the optical cable that is worn is peeled off the skin (35mm in length) with peeling cables.

5.Curing

Cut the rowed fiber cores with scissors, penetrate the polarity specified by the customer into the specified MT core, and place the wearing the core of the core into the furnace to bake. (Put the core inject glue before wearing a fiber, then use a glue machine to suck out 353ND glue evenly, and then wear the fiber.)

6.Fiber Leaving&Removing Epoxy&Polishing

Cut the rowed fiber cores with scissors, penetrate the polarity specified by the customer into the specified MT core, and place the wearing the core of the core into the furnace to bake. (Put the core inject glue before wearing a fiber, then use a glue machine to suck out 353ND glue evenly, and then wear the fiber.)

7.Assembling

The product that detects the noodles is installed with the outer frame of the spring seat.

8.Crimping

Print the label according to the customer’s requirements and stick it on the carton.

9.Labeling

Print the label according to the customer’s requirements and stick it on the carton.

Test Process

1.Visual Inspection&Geometry Test

Clean the ground joint and put it on a 400x microscope to check if the product is qualified.

Note: There should not be any defects or scratches in the A zone during end face inspection. Zone C Scratches (0~25um)

Zone B allows scratches ≤ 2um ≤ 2 places, pits ≤ 5 Zone B um1 place.

Zone C has no requirements.

2.IL&RL Test

The assembly products are tested with the JGR tester, mainly testing the loss of insertion damage.

3.Polarity Test

Perform polarity tests at the same time.

What are MTP vs MPO Cable?

● MPO (Multi-Fiber Push On) cables are capped with MPO connectors at either end. MPO fiber connector is for ribbon cables with more than 2 fibers, which is designed to provide multi-fiber connectivity in one connector to support high bandwidth and high-density cabling system applications. MPO connector is compliant with the IEC 61754-7 standard and the U.S. TIA-604-5 standard. At present, MPO connectors are typically available with 8, 12, 16 or 24 fibers for common data center and LAN applications, and 32, 48, 60, 72 fiber counts are also possible in large scale optical switches for specialty super high- density multi-fiber arrays.

● MTP® cables, short for (Multi-Fiber Pull Off), are equipped with MTP® connectors at either end. MTP® connector is a trademark by US Conec for a version of the MPO connector with improved specifications. So MTP® connectors are fully compliant with all generic MPO connectors and can interconnect directly with other MPO based infrastructures. However, the MTP® connector is a multiple engineeredproduct enhancement to improve mechanical and optical performance when compared to generic MPO connectors.

What are the Differences of MTP vs MPO Cable?

The key difference between MTP® and MPO fiber optic cables lies in their connectors. As the improved version, equipped with MTP® connectors have better mechanical designs and optical performances.

Pin Clamp and Spring

MPO connector is usually equipped with inferior plastic pin clamps, which may lead to effortless breaking of pins with constant cable mating, while the MTP® connector has a metal pin clamp to ensure a strong clasp on the pins and minimize any inadvertent breaking when mating connectors. In the MTP® connector, the oval spring is used to maximize the gap between fiber ribbon and spring, which can protect the fiber ribbon from damages during inserting. The MTP® design includes a recessed pin clamp and oval spring will ensure a secure spring seat, and greater clearance between the spring and the ribbon cable in order to reduce the risk of damage to the MTP® cable.

Guide Pins

The guide pins adopted by MTP® and MPO connectors are also different. The MTP® connector uses tightly held tolerance stainless steel elliptical guide pin tips to reduce the amount of debris that may fall into the guide pin holes or on the ferrule end face. However, the chamfered shaped guide pins adopted by MPO connectors will produce more debris when used.

Guide Pins

Removable Housing for MTP® Cable

MPO connectors do not guarantee a removable housing. However, the MTP® connector is designed to have a removable housing which allows users to rework and re-polish the MT ferrule and easily get access to performance testing and to smoothly change the
gender a􀉇er assembly or even in the field.

Types of the MPO/MTP cables

MPO/MTP cables, designed for high-density fiber optic networking, come in various types to cater to different networking needs and applications. Here’s an overview of the common types of MPO/MTP cables:

MPO/MTP Patch Cables

MPO/MTP patch cables are similar to trunk cables but are generally shorter in length. They are used for shorter runs, o􀉇en for connecting within a rack or between nearby racks in a data center.

  • The MPO/MTP connector is a type of fiber connecter. MPO (Multi-Fiber Push On) is a multi-core fiber connecter type. The MPO/MTP high -density fiber pre -connection system is currently mainly used in the application of high -density environments of data centers, the application of optical fiber to the building, and the internal connection applications inside the optical transceiver equipment such as the optical device, 40G, 100G, QSFP+.
  • MPO/MTP connector types are distinguished according to the IEC 61754-7(EIA/TIA-604-5) regulations: core numbers (array number), male head (Male, Female), polarity (PC or APC).
  • MPO/MTP 3.0mm LSZH Fiber Patch Cord. MPO/MTP Fiber Patch Cord is terminated with MPO/MTP connector on both ends. MPO Fiber Patch Cord connect MPO/MTP modules together as a permanent link. The MPO/MTP Fiber Patch Cord are available with 12, 24, 48,60,72 ,96,144fibers. Support speeds up to 10/40/100Gbps data center solutions. They are typically adopted to interconnect cassettes, panels or ruggedized MPO/MTP fan-outs, and to facilitate rapid deployment of high-density backbone cabling in data centers and other high fiber environments. Besides, MPO/MTP also provides much flexibility and convenience once you have to change the connector style in the patch panels. Instead of changing the connector on the cable trunk, just installing a new cassette with the new connector style on the crossconnect side of the patch panel.
  • MPO/MTP Fiber Patch Cord is designed for 40G QSFP+ SR4, 40G QSFP+ CSR4 and 100G QSFP28 SR4 optics direct connections and high-density data center.

MPO/MTP TRUNK CABLE

Loopback Cables: These are used for testing and troubleshooting MPO/MTP network setups. A loopback cable has the connectors at both ends of a single cable connected back to each other, creating a loop for testing the transmission and receiving capabilities of network equipment.

Customized Cables: Many manufacturers offer customized MPO/MTP cables, where customers can specify the length, fiber count, type of fiber (single-mode or multi-mode), connector type, and polarity. This customization ensures that the cable meets specific requirements of different network infrastructures.
